Finally, we come to food, which
is central to the Italian character. Italian restaurants are ubiquitous
throughout the world; pasta and pizza can be ordered in Bangkok, Beijing,
and Boston. A brief overview of some of the characteristic elements
of Italian food (including some recipes) are described to encourage
you to try your hand at recreating the Italian culinary experience
at home.
In addition, the e-book
has a level of "interactivity" unavailable in the old-fashioned
paper version. Digitizing the pages, we noticed that many subjects
were often mentioned in more than one chapter, allowing us to hyperlink
them together. Any word or phrase that is a different color from the
regular black text is a link to another chapter on that very subject.
For example, a sentance that reads "Michelangelo
lived in Rome and loved pizza."
has links to chapters on Michelangelo, Rome, and pizza, respectively.
